Waterside Cottages is situated in Waterhouses, a quiet village in the south of the Staffordshire Peak District. Within Brown End Farm we offer two newly renovated modern self-catering cottages and the facility to hire bikes, for an enjoyable ride along the Manifold Trail. We are situated at the foot of the Manifold with its paradise walk and amazing vanishing river.
As a family run business, we aim to provide all our guest with a peaceful getaway with a stunning surround of the countryside and breath-taking scenery.
You can choose to stay in our bigger stone-built cottage Lily-Rose, which accommodates up to 5 guests. Or for a perfect and romantic couples getaway, you can enjoy our Blue Bell cottage and cosy up by the log burner with a glass of wine. Both cottages are fully equipped self-catering, which we are sure you will find everything you need, to have a memorable stay with us.
The cottages lie in the valley of the river Hamps in the peak national park, which winds its way between wooded hillsides and spectacular cliffs to join the river Manifold. Alongside the rivers runs the track of the old Manifold Light Railway, which is ideal for cycling or walking. We offer a day’s cycling to all our guests
Within Waterhouse, there is a local shop, which is a 10-minute walk away. There are also several pubs around, where you can enjoy home cooked food if you didn’t fancy cooking in the cottages.
We are 7 miles from both Ashbourne and Leek, which offer some wonderful country town shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs! Remember that all Derbyshire’s attractions are nearby from Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Carsington Water, Crich’s Tramway, Water World and even Alton Towers!
